This weekend I am being a slob. In actual fact that is no different from any other weekend. I have decided to take it easy this weekend. Also I woke up with a bad back this AM and getting around is a b it of a bugger. Watched the F1 this afternoon and took my neighbour ( who has just had hip replacement surgery) to the shops in his car so that is my good deed for the month. I think next time I will take my car as my heap of French s**t has better brakes than his heap of French S**t. Seriously his brakes are shot. Made me feel quite nervous even at the first junction as i was struggling to bring the car to a halt. The supermarket is only a couple of miles away so it was a mercifully short journey.
Spent most of yesterday reading a book by Robert Goddard. He hails from my home town I think and at least attended the same school (albeit a few years before me). It was thriller based around a plot to steal gold bullion during ht Spanish Civil War that was never rediscovered. It was not an especially good book but I was just in a mood yesterday to indulge myself and apart from some taxi-ing of my son that is all I did. So i can't imagine how I managed to put my back out as I was stretched on a sofa all day!
Friday was busy at work as it always seems to be these days what with the impending weekend a lot of jobs need doing yesterday. Treated my self to fish and chips in the evening though. Have eventually found a good chippy but it has an unusual feature. It is also a Chinese take away. One end of the counter is fish and chips and the other is Chinese take away. The other unusual bit is the fish and chip side is operated by European looking kids and the Chinese end is operated by the Chinese owners. It makes me feel a little uncomfortable to be honest. It feels like I am making some kind of cultural choice along racial lines. Why don't the Chinese also serve the fish and chips? they are good fish and chips too! Haven't used the Chinese part yet. My kids aren't too keen on Chinese food at the moment and i prefer the Chinese take away that is a bit closer to home.

Ah well nothing left to do but get the washing started and ready myself for another week. Four more get ups and then I am on holiday for 2 weeks! Yay!
Just Top Gear and Sherlock Holmes to wind me down to bed time!
