This is my equinox resolution (seeing as today is the spring equinox - equal day an night), to blog at least once a week. I have to say that most nights that I get the trusty laptop fired up I just stare at a blank page and I wander what the heck to write about. I just want to write something amusing and maybe a little uplifting. I try not to be contentious, there are plenty of other people out there who can do it better than me.

So this weekend! Not much to report. Went into the city and got a haircut, first one for a while. I go to a barber shop that only employs nice ladies to cut Gents hair. Cheap trick really but if I didn't go I probably wouldn't get to practice talking to women in a social setting, even though I am actually paying for it!
I arrived at a moment of lull for the girls so once we got going on our kids they all joined in. I however trumped the lot of them in uncommunicative teenager stakes when I explained that I have to read my son's facebook page to find out what he is up to at the moment.

After taking my son to a football match I set about the garden. I was beset with a couple of laurel bushes that were hell bent on world domination starting with my garden. After some negotiation with my neighbour involving an undisclosed sum of Stella Artois cans he gleefully took a chainsaw to the vegetative insurgents. That was in October and I have been saying every day since that "I really must do something about all those branches" Well today I got stuck in. I hate gardening with a passion and thus I rarely get anything done. So far I have just moved the pile from one side of the garden to another. I have to get it done before something nests in it or it will have to stay there until autumn.

Well another week of drudgery awaits so I will sign off until i get more inspiration
