OK so it is Tuesday, just in case you missed Monday, and my back is feeling much better.

So here it is. A weekend in North Wales.

I go to see my Godson at irregular intervals who lives in a village in north Wales.
I usually travel over on a Friday night but i think my late arrival is too much for my hosts so i decided to go early Saturday morning. It was a fine evening on Friday so I was able to get a good bike ride in. It had been a frustrating week with nice afternoons turning to wet evenings. As I only cycle in good weather that was a bit infuriating.

I had promised to leave early on Saturday but I think 7 in the a.m. was a bit on the ambitious side. I managed 7:45 which i figured wasn't bad. It is earlier than I leave for work on a week day so there!

Generally traffic free trip. it rained a little in North Yorkshire and I passed the obligatory police speed trap on the M1. I travel the length and breadth of this fair country but on no other stretch of Motorway can i guarantee to see a traffic car trying to catch speeding traffic than i can here. It is at the point at Dishforth where the dual carriage A1 becomes the six lane M1. Within 500 yards of this is a police lay by and on a Saturday Morning there is ALWAYS a traffic cop there. You will not see that on ANY other stretch of motorway in the UK.

As I descended into Rochdale it started to rain. And then some. As I rounded Manchester and headed to Liverpool it stopped as suddenly as it started. I would take that as prophetic dear reader. Nothing good has happened to me in Manchester so if you are ever on the M62 in those parts - keep driving!

I arrived in North Wales only a little later than I promised. After a Little catch up we, the family and me, decided to trek out to a place called Chirk castle. It is owned by the National Trust. It sits over the village of Chirk which is also dominated by a cocoa processing plant. I don't know why you need to know that but there you are.

I will leave my story there so that you can investigate the castle and also I need to find some pictures of pigs I saw.
