Well here I am again.

2 months after my hard drive committed Hari Kari, I am finally up and running again.

I held off for a bit because I feared that it was going to be a darn site harder to fix than I could possibly imagine. Unfortunately that is what happens when you are the long time owner of a Renault. You just assume it's gonna cost a lot of money. A pessimist is never disappointed etc. etc. The other point though is that when it comes to computers I have absolutely no idea how they work so I really can't imagine much.

I rolled along to my local repair shop and asked if it was possible to fix my sad and cold machine. A quick bit of typing in something called "dos" he ascertained the problem. My hard drive had basically fallen on it's own sword rather than work for me one more darned day. The solution was simple and that was to fit a new one. The chap behind the desk brought out a basket of nice shiny new hard drives and selected on for me of the right size with £40 written on the packet. The one next to it said £80. It was too small for my machine as a result I purchased the last remaining pre-Thailand flood hard drive this side of Hadrians wall. The price is set to double as direct result of the factories all being under 3 feet of water. I got to the shop just in time, for once.

I have, since I last posted been on a short trip to Vancouver and Canada. I have family out there and my cousin was getting married. If you want a flimsy excuse to go and visit a city you have never been to then a wedding is as good as they get.

Lovely city. Perhaps I should do a proper report on a separate post and splice in some pictures.
It was only a 5 day visit but I crammed in a lot of stuff. Wedding, site seeing, touring. Could have stayed longer to be honest.

Well I shall call a halt there.

Leave them wanting more, or at least leave them before they reach for heavy objects
