Age Concern!

Of all the events that happened this week those that reminded me of the passing years, 3 events stand out.

1) My eldest son turned 16! Where has the time gone?

2) I sat and watch the Brit awards (like the Grammy's but no one cares about it) with my daughter and spent almost the entire night asking her who the hell were all these people! The piece de la resistance was when I recognised two grey haired old farts with seriously embarrassing mullets (Brian May and Roger Something from Queen) who were presenting a lifetime achievement award to a band I can clearly remember starting out as a fresh faced indie band not so very long ago.

Finally:-

3) We have been helped out this week by a locum from "The Smoke". As I went to say goodbye on the Friday, I offered my hand for a handshake only to find he had raised his hand for a high five. Or it may have been one of those things that tennis players do that just looks odd in my book.
Is this what the youth of today consider a formal greeting these days. I just assumed that tennis players did it 'cos after several hours of holding a racket a decent handshake was out of the question. Poor things, must be crying all the way to that numbered Swiss bank account.
