New York! New York!

NYC Skyline

I have just returned from my Jolly holidays in the U.S. and proved at the same time that the US government (or anybody for that matter) cares not a jot what i put out onto the interweb. (see previous post August 20th 2013).

I was there for about 9 days ostensibly to enjoy the wedding of my nephew at a beach resort hotel in Gloucester Massachusetts. Check it out here. I stayed in the Ocean terrace rooms and am horrified to see they cost £120 a night. Premier Inn are far superior to this room! That is quite a hike for a sea view!

The wedding was amazing. Unfortunately I ended up dragging my mother down the aisle as part of the family contingent and couldn't carry my camera. So no photo's. As we pretty much had the hotel to ourselves we could let loose at the party and a good time was had by all!

It was a warm Sunny day for the wedding and I am sure the pictures are going to look fabulous once they are published. But I will have ot wait for now.

The picture below is of one of the temporary residents that inhabit the scrub close to the shore. It was taken in one of those lulls you get when someone else is getting married and you are there to watch. There was a lot of activity going on that day, I just wasn't a part of it. I was very hungry at that point and said rabbit was a justifiable target, except I would have to kill it with my bare hands and in such circumstances the rabbit was sure to get the better of me should I even get within arms reach!

Once the dust had settled on that little adventure we were whisked off to New York for 2 days consolidated sight seeing.

Spot the difference?

I took this 3 years ago.

Never mind the weather the Freedom Tower is nearing completion.

Another View!

I shall refrain from detailing the whole trip. Maybe another time. We stayed in midtown and walked our sorry butts off!

Safe and sound back home now.
