The election debate!

Saw the election debate tonight on the BBC. No Conservative leader. Or Liberal Democrat for that matter. Not sure that was a bright idea but hey ho. I would be surprised if anyone changed their views based on what I saw.

Ed Milliband

Looked a bit smug as if he knew he had the election in the bag compared to all the other mugs. His only real competitor is the SNP. I only hope his stance on immigration is a thinly veiled ploy to woo UKIP types away from Conservatives. Worst case scenario is that it was a ploy to prevent deserters to UKIP.

Plaid Cymru

The problem with this lot is that they may reshape our political landscape but Perhaps the Welsh may be better off with A government of their choosing not a headless corpse of a of an MP's who would be too few to make any difference in London. They said many "lefty" things I approve of but some of these parties are quite frankly promising the Earth. Sound in the knowledge that they will never have to live up to the promise.

Scottish National Party

As above to be honest!

The SNP (and Plaid Cymru) are offering a lot at the moment. The SNP have history on this. In the last referendum the SNP were offering Scotland the chance to be a spending power house. A country free from the shackles of Austerity. No one has yet challenged the economics of the SNP argument, about how much was going to be reliant on the price of a barrel of oil. The SNP promised a rich integrated society with welfare for all .... etc etc. And oil was going to pay for it. Only it can't. No one has noticed the elephant in the room that the bottom fell out of the market

Green Party

Well what to say? A party of dreamers? The very best that can be said is that they are concerned citizens. The UK is good at that. They have been around for some time now so I hope they have developed some actual strategies. Unfortunately their campaign has been mildly hampered by Natalie Bennett fluffing her talk on the radio some time back. I would have no problem with some more green party MP's. They could act as something of a environmental conscience on Parliament.

UKIP
Buffoon?

I will not dignify this party with much of an entry. Get beyond that Farrage geezer and they are all crackpots and right wing loonies. As a Party it is a one trick pony - leave the EU. I am not a great EU supporter but he still talks about doing business with the commonwealth instead of Europe. The problem is that the Chinese and Koreans are there now and are twice as cheap. We have nothing the commonwealth wants that they can't get elsewhere
