After the attack in Tunisia One wonders what the point was? At least 38 innocent victims were killed at time of writing. I cannot begin to imagine the grief, loss and sorrow for these peoples families. I have avoided the news on it because it causes me too much emotional pain and I have no way of making it better.
One's attention is then turned to the perpetrators. Why would they do this? For the individual act I would not be surprised if they truly believed they were serving a greater purpose. Indeed it is the standard practice for people to get OTHER people to carry out horrendous human suffering on each other. From WWII and beyond. Apart from the bleedin' obvious what has been achieved? In the long term what will the perpetrators have gained? My answer is not a lot. All that will happen is that decent citizens will allow there freedoms to be curbed so as to make the life of the terrorist harder to live. Certainly any anti Islamic sentiment in the UK will definitely get a boost. Rightly or wrongly, I am not suggesting for one second real Muslims are involved in this. My question is this how much care and attention did the perpetrators give towards their own kind if you like? If you are a Muslim in the UK and you already felt under pressure this act sure as hell isn't going to ease that fear is it?
My point is that the perpertators of such violence only have their own glory in mind. We should all take account of this before we engage in violence toward each other. Who really gains from my action?
