Migration "crisis"

My only difficult with this subject is where to begin.

First and foremost I will state that I believe we cannot prevent human migration and quite probably nor should we want to stop migration. There i have said it and if you strongly disagree with my statement you can move on to another blog which will sustain and nurture your opinion instead of questioning why you think the way you do.

Firstly the entire history of the human race is one of migration.  Modern humans have descended from a mass migration (estimates vary) from Africa around about 125000 - 60000 years ago. And we have been migrating ever since.

just take a look at the history of the British Isles. It would seem after the end of
Roman occupation at about 400 AD that the Romans genetically left little of themselves behind. However from this date onwards the British isles were hit with wave after wave of inward migration from western Europe. The Franks, the Jutes, Saxons, Danes, Vikings and finally Normans (French Vikings). There were many other influxes of populations but from the time of the Normans the present day England was formed politically and geographically. and it's borders and government have been continuous from this date. Largely.

The driving force for these early invasions would seem to be displacement pressure from the rise and fall of various Mongol empires as they pushed west.

Then we have the 20th century. Mass migration thanks to Persecution and violent displacement. The mass persecution of an entire religious group ended in the creation of Israel. Migration was not stopped there . Displaced Palestinians. And so it goes on.

So we have sub saharan Africa and Syria/Iraq in conflict. Various political/religous groups vying for control. Civil war and strife on continental levels.

For Syrians the civil war has been ongoing for at least 4 years and it is a no brainer that young Syrians would see no future for themselves in Syria. Then we have sub Sahara Africa. Need I say anymore.

WE live in a global village in the 21st Century. So why wouldn't people search for new life away from their current strife?

The talk in the news is of 500000 people on the move. IT is a lot but Europe can take it. In an area of 320 million people, shared amongst europe we wouldn't notice. That is the short term. The developed world must seek to stabilise the areas where these people come from. It os a basic human right to want to progress, grow etc. and if the so called developed world does not want these mass migrations it must do more to ensure that mankind can seek to do these things throughout the world.
