Oh Ho Ho - Merry Christmas
As John Lennon once said "So this is Christmas?". It is Christmas morning here on the South Coast. I am up, as is my Mother. My teenage children are in their usual morning torpor and my Brother and his other (and better) half have arrived from the US. Don't know how  are as they have gone straight back to bed. Me and Mother are a little concerned they have gone off in a bit of a huff as we weren't available to welcome them home with open arms. My daughter let them  in but not until they had rung the doorbell a few times. My daughter then awoke me to ask where Grandma kept the key (That's a whole different story!) and the place I had told her about was incorrect as my Mum then told me she moved it because she didn't think anyone knew where it was. She was now quite correct!
All is quiet save for the mice, who have the run of the cavity walls it would seem. The foam insulation kept them quiet for a bit but not forever

Christmas Eve was OK. I did all my last minute shopping quite succesfully around town and we didn't haveto fight the crowds. Sainsbury's wasn't the zoo I was expecting. Recent reports had led me to believe there was panic buying.
I know Gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins but at this time of year it is slightly different. Being stuffed to the gills is an important aspect of the celebration. It is like sticking two fingers up to Mother Nature. All god's creatures are in locked in a life and death struggle for food and resources but at this time of year we can tell nature just where she can stick it!
