Down with Snowboarding

I have just been watching Ski Sunday on the Beeb. Downhill from Kitzbuhl I think. At the end of it was film article having a pop at a ski resort in Nevada called Alta I think. It sounds like just my sort of resort because it has a blanket ban on snowboarders. The reporter suggested that this segregation was in some way immoral. He felt it worked against families of mixed users and to illustrate that point a man and his young charge were indeed turned away. However that is the guy's own fault as the resort makes it's stance widely known. Anyway the reporter made the fatuous intimation that this was somehow an immoral segregation. 

That is just complete hogwash. I have been to ski resorts many times and every time I have had at least one tumble from an out of control skier ramming me from behind and guess what - snowboarder every time. 

To be fair snowboarding was relatively new in those days. It may be that snowboarding teaches a better level of etiquette than when I last went skiing but I see no problem with a segregated ski resort. We don't allow all types of traffic to mix on some or our roads so I see no problem doing the same for snowboarders. Skiers are no saints it has to be said.
